The entire weekend was sponsored by VOW and there was no charge for any of the couples attending. Friday night kicked off with Romance Bingo, and David Benson was the speaker of the evening.

The couples enjoyed activities throughout the weekend such as horseback riding, ballroom dancing, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, canoes, wall climbing, and much more. The weekend was also filled with workshops and prize giveaways for the couples. 
 
Advisors and counselors at the retreat discussed several topics such as compromise and discussion techniques. Jarred Fry, a participant at the retreat, said the overall experience was positive. 

 

“We had a good marriage, but it brought us closer together,” said Fry. 
Surrounded by the scenic beauty of Pine Cove, the couples spent the weekend focusing on enriching their relationships. Twenty-four couples of all ages and backgrounds participated in the retreat. Couples at the Enrichment Weekend confirmed the positive impact that VOW has been in their relationship.

Enrichment Weekends are only one of the exciting aspects of the VOW Healthy Marriage program. After completing the program, couples have the opportunity to mentor other couples. Volunteer work is also an option to stay involved in our program.
 
Our initiative to promote healthy marriage has been successful and we hope to continue enriching relationships and improving the community.
 
Julie Hughes said the program has been very enlightening and took their relationship to a different level.

“It was an awesome experience,” Hughes said. “We really enjoyed it a lot.”
