Renewing Our Sacred Vows
VOW recently hosted a Black Marriage Day Conference on Saturday, March 29, 2008, themed ‘Renewing Our Sacred Vows.’ The Conference was held at First United Methodist Church in Longview, TX. Couples that attended the event listened to inspirational speakers on topics including; benefits of a healthy marriage, defying the odds, and commitment. |

Starting in September of 2008, the cost for a marriage license in Texas will increase from $30 to $60. However, there will be no charge for couples who complete an 8-hour marriage preparation course.

Sky Ranch is a charming retreat center outside of Tyler, TX. VOW hosted their September Enrichment Weekend at Sky Ranch September 28 th - 29 th , where couples enjoyed meals, entertainment, and enrichment activities. The weekend was free of charge for couples that have already completed the Prepare/Enrich course. |
